Over a year ago I wrote a short three line verse that I started using in social media posts. I apply the verse to stories that exposed the truth about this world we live in, the world we’ve created. For millennium humans have been fed a line about how things are supposed to work. Don Miguel Ruiz calls this the “domestication of the planet” in his book The Four Agreements. The line(s) we’ve been fed are designed to do one thing, that is to accelerate our forgetfulness about who we really are.
Yesterday, as it snowed heavily here in New England, I was writing a letter to a friend in central Pennsylvania. I find myself drawn to write whenever snow is falling outside the window. I slipped the letter into a card and was going to leave the card untouched by ink when I suddenly felt inspired to complete what I started so long ago. Why then? I don’t know. I believe I wanted to share a message of hope with her, of power which is innate, yet dormant.

One
One by one by one by one
Everything you thought you knew
Was wrong
One by one by one by one
Everything you create about you
Is new
One by one by one by one
Everything is changing the few
Like you
One by one by one by one
We grew

Take care and seek peace my friends,
