Thoughts on the film “Forgotten Kingdom”

This film left me in visual overload.  I was thrown into a very foreign situation.  At the end of Joseph/Atang’s journey back into his tribal experience and own sense-of-self I felt overwhelmed.

After a good night’s sleep and a search for some wisdom from others* I can reflect better on the lessons learned from this very beautiful and thought-provoking film.

Most times we cannot move forward emotionally or spiritually without remembering, recounting the stones we’ve collected in our pockets** so to speak, from where we have come.  Re-discovering those forgotten kingdoms.  When we truly know what it means to be human – not just come to some understanding – but truly know in our innermost being what it feels, smells, and tastes like; what it hurts like; what it aches like…then we become ready to know what it feels like NOT to be human.

We remember that Forgotten Kingdom where we find our divine sense of self.  Our true self.  And…just as in the last scene of the movie…we can throw away all that we thought precious and important and simply live in the divine present moment; find ourselves a couple horses** and move on.

Open to the Wonders of a Savannah Sunday

What would you expect to find on the streets of Savannah, late Easter afternoon? Regardless of what you think you might find, always be open to the unexpected.  Always.  Wonder abounds.

I was riding my bicycle on what turned out to be a beautiful, beautiful weather day.  I’ve included some observations on what wonder can be found when we just open our eyes to the beauty of All That Is out there.  At least the wonder I experienced anyway.

What interesting things will you find today?  Will you actually look, or just be caught up with what you find between your ears?

Take care and seek peace,

Vince

SHARE

The excitement of sharing is by its very nature…..a shared experience, is it not?  We love to share.

“Sharing on River Street” by vincegreen

“Look what I found!”

“Look what I did!”

“I made this! Do you like it?”

Of course not all sharing is necessary.  No one needs to know what your body did to you after dinner last night.  No one needs to know about that pus-filled thing you found this morning.  You know what I mean. Right?

But by and large, people do want to know the things you have to share.  Why?  Because simply put, it’s an energy thing.

It’s all about the energy.  More specifically – an exchange of energy.  It feels good to release energy that can be beneficial to other people.  It also feels good to receive energy that feels good.  Sharing can be a very empowering experience.

So go ahead, share something with someone today:  a thought, an idea, a bit of information, an item, food. Something designed to benefit another person.  Before you do however, keep this simple acronym in mind, it has been of help to me lately:

Is what you are about to say or do…

T     Thoughtful

H     Helpful

I       Inspiring

N     Necessary

K     Kind

If so, give freely.  If not, well, maybe you should think twice then, eh?

Take care and seek peace,

Vince
